BiographySarah Watson is a PhD student specializing in contemporary performance art. Her research focuses on the relationship between the archival document and the original performance and is primarily concerned with works created in the 1970s and 1980s. Among her other research interests are collaborative pedagogical projects with artists, the relationship between performance art and urban space, and the early performances of Michelangelo Pistoletto. Prior to entering the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Art History, Sarah created art education projects and public programs for arts institutions and cultural organizations in Canada and Europe. She has a BA in Classical Studies and Italian from the University of Ottawa and completed MA studies in Art History at the University of Bologna.
